This hostal offers economical rates in a handy location – just a few minutes’ walk from the mid-stop of the Parador chairlift. The four minute Parador ride takes you down to the central squares area of the lower zone where the main lifts up to the ski area are located together with the majority of shops and restaurants.
El Ciervo offers clean, simplistic decor and, on the whole, the rooms are very generous in size and offer a good base to enjoy your skiing at Sierra Nevada. All rooms come with sizeable en-suite bathrooms. The bed configurations are typically twin beds side by side plus an additional “extendable” bunk which, when folded down, acts as a single bed. As such, most rooms can comfortably sleep up to four people.
Larger dormitory style rooms are also available to cater for groups, and typically comprise a combination of these “extendable” bunk beds.
Perhaps one of the prime advantages that El Ciervo has compared to other hostals in Sierra Nevada is that it has public areas to lounge in as well as a good sized restaurant for breakfast and evening meals.
The public lounge offers a pool table, air hockey and darts. WiFi is available in all the public areas.
El Ciervo is arguably the busier of the Hostals in resort, regularly catering for large groups of people, and so should be chosen on the understanding that there could be occasional disturbances from groups arriving or departing. However, the reception is manned 24 hours a day and as a result there is a good level of control available during the busier periods as well as during the night hours should any disturbances occur then.
Free street-side parking is usually available in the vicinity.
Very much suited to travellers on a tighter budget and / or looking for somewhere to base themselves and focus entirely on making the most of the slopes outside!
